Ferrari star Charles Leclerc raged at his former teammate Carlos Sainz at the 2025 Qatar GP sprint qualifying SQ3 session as the Spaniard ruined the Monegasque’s outlap before the final run in the session. The Ferrari driver took to the team radio and complained about the Williams driver.Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were the best of mates during their time at Ferrari and even gifted the Monegasque a chilli soft toy to remember him by after the duo split following Lewis Hamilton's arrival at the Italian stable.Going into the Qatar GP, Williams weren't expected to be strong at the high downforce circuit, but shocked everyone as both Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon made it to SQ3. Going into the final SQ3 runs, Sainz was ahead of Leclerc on the outlap. The Ferrari driver took to the team radio in sector 1 on his outlap and complained about Sainz slowing down before the safety line, which bunched up the grid. Just a few seconds later, as Charles Leclerc was about to start his final lap, his former teammate slowed down massively into the final sector. As a result, the Monegasque couldn't push into the final sector and had to start the lap following a less-than-ideal outlap (preparation lap). As Leclerc completed his final lap and crossed the start finish line, he took to the team radio and slammed his former Ferrari teammate.“Unbelievable, unbelievable. For f**k's sake. Ah it's okay. Today he does that, tomorrow don't worry. I'll do the f**king same to him. We are slow anyway.”Leclerc only managed a lap good enough for P9 in SQ3 and will start the race behind Carlos Sainz, who starts P8. Yuki Tsunoda in P5 was just a tenth faster than Leclerc, which could've been down to a less-than-ideal final outlap for the Ferrari star.Charles Leclerc's dismal Friday sessions at the 2025 Qatar GP involved a steering wheel issueCharles Leclerc went into the only practice session at the Lusail International Circuit and started complaining about the feedback from the power steering. Throughout the practice session, the Monegasque continued to complain about the feel from the steering wheel.“Ah, I don't feel a thing with this steering wheel,” said Leclerc on team radio in FP1.“I cannot feel a thing. Really frustrating. I don't even know where's the balance of this car with this power steering,” he added. When questioned if Leclerc wanted to run on the soft tires, he responded,“You can forget about the softs. Going to crash the car, so I don't want to take the risk of that.”The sprint qualifying was a dismal session for both Ferrari drivers as Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in SQ1, whereas Charles Leclerc could only manage P9 following Carlos Sainz's shenanigans on the final outlap in SQ3.
