Formula 1 fans have shared their reactions to Zak Brown's latest interview on McLaren's stance on favoritism involving Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Taking to their social media accounts, fans slammed Piastri after Brown's statement contradicted the Australian driver.
Following the disqualification of Piastri and Norris from the Las Vegas GP, Max Verstappen has come within touching distance of the McLaren duo. Amid this, Piastri denied the Papaya team favoring Norris for the championship after a brief discussion, as seen on Racingnews 365:
“We've had a very brief discussion and the answer is no. “I'm still equal on points with Max and got a decent shot of still winning it if things go my way. “That's how we play it.”
However, Brown, the CEO of McLaren, snubbed the claim and informed that the team had no such discussions. Speaking about it to the media, here's what Brown said:
“It’s pretty easy, because there’s not much to manage. Just let them race. So, you know, I saw those comments from the interview. We actually haven’t discussed not doing anything other than both guys racing. So I don’t know if that particular quote was taking out of context or what the question was, but boys’ve been free to race since Australia."
"They’re free to race now. As I mentioned, there is three different drivers that can lead this championship coming out of this weekend, therefore how can you do anything other than continue to let them race," he further added.
As the interview surfaced on social media, fans took to social media and slammed Oscar Piastri . Here's how they reacted to it:
A fan wrote, "Mark Webber and Piastri are disgusting people."
Another fan wrote, "So, it was Piastri who wanted to push "Lando favouritism" agenda."
Another fan wrote, "Oscar just saying shits to make it look bad on Lando."
"So Oscar is basically stirring shit. Okay," wrote another fan.
Another fan wrote, "So piastri is chatting shit? Fork found in the kitchen."
"Oscar playing the media game? Shocker," wrote a fan.
Oscar Piastri let his feelings known after claiming Qatar GP pole
Following the conclusion of the Qatar GP qualifying, Oscar Piastri shared his thoughts. Speaking to the media in the post-qualifying interview, here's what the McLaren driver said (via FIA's official website):

"Very happy. Pretty tough [tomorrow] with the two-stops, we'll be pushing flat out the whole time. I'm expecting a pretty tough race, it will be hard work. No, we left it pretty much the same, minor tweaks here and there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The team did a very good job."
Oscar Piastri is currently in P2 in the Drivers' Championship with 374 points. He trails his teammate, Lando Norris by 22 points and leads the reigning champion, Max Verstappen by three points.
