Lewis Hamilton has developed a special relationship with Brazil over the course of his F1 career. The 7x world champion won his first drivers' title in the South American country back in 2008. He has also claimed that his biggest racing hero is the legendary Ayrton Senna.

In 2022, Hamilton was also awarded an honorary Brazilian citizenship by the government, further deepening his connection with the country. That same year, the driver had also shared an X post that featured numerous Brazilian flags and no explanation.

The 40-year-old has now recreated this post ahead of the Brazilian GP this year, sharing a similar post on Wednesday. This post has even gone viral among F1 fans on social media, garnering more than 420,000 likes and 37,000 retweets within minutes.

Lewis Hamilton has won the Brazilian GP on three previous occasions, namely in 2016, 2018, and 2021. The latest of these victories stands out the most as the veteran showcased his mastery by coming all the way from P10 to claim an important win in his bid for the 2021 drivers' title at the time.

Now, Hamilton is in a completely different stage of his career as the driver looks for his first win with Ferrari. He has not even been able to stand on the podium with the Italian team yet, let alone think of a P1 finish.

Hamilton is also coming off a disappointing weekend in Mexico last time around, where he finished eighth after being handed a 10-second penalty during the race. The Ferrari man had started the race in third, but a battle with Max Verstappen left him with the penalty as he registered another disastrous weekend in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton has claimed that only people who work within F1 could understand the nuances of what it takes to get things right. The Briton said that he tends to focus on doing his job to the best of his ability as he chases success at Ferrari.

When asked by Ferrari magazine if people outside of F1 fail to understand that building a successful team can take time, Hamilton replied, saying:

"Only when you’re inside a team can you really, truly understand how it works and how F1 works. You can’t imagine how the machine really operates otherwise. I’ve been in F1 for so long but when I came to this team it really was different again." [via Ferrari's official website]

"So I don’t blame people for not knowing. All I can do is continue to focus on the things that I can control. How I prepare and work with the team. How I show up each day and stay positive," he added.

Hamilton has admitted that joining Ferrari was part of his childhood dream of driving for the scarlet red team in F1. Now, the most successful driver in the sport's history is looking for a record-breaking eighth title at the most successful team in the sport's history.
