Lewis Hamilton broke his silence after Ferrari boss' stern criticism towards the drivers. Hamilton took to his official social media account to take a stand after experiencing a disastrous Brazil GP last week.

Hamilton had a race to forget in Sao Paulo after he failed to qualify in Q3 on Saturday, and then had a DNF on Sunday. From a poor qualifying performance and having his floor damaged after a collision, to receiving a five-second time penalty, the seven-time world champion's time in Brazil was indeed a dreadful one.

Following the race, he spoke to the media, where he apologized to his team and the fans. In doing so, he also criticized the team, which did not sit well with John Elkann, the chairperson of Ferrari.

Elkann then went to tell the drivers to "talk less and focus on driving," which in return wasn't appreciated by the former Mercedes man. Replying to it indirectly, Hamilton took to his X account to take his stand. Here's what he wrote:

"I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up. Not now, not then, not ever. Thank you, Brazil, always."

Besides Hamilton, Charles Leclerc also endured a forgettable race. Despite qualifying up in front (in P3), the Monegasque driver was the victim of a wreck and lost his tire. As a result, he had to limp and retire from the race.

In the end, both Ferrari drivers came home with double DNF and zero points, for the second time this season (in China, both Ferraris were disqualified). As a consequence, the Prancing Horse lost P2 in the Constructors' Championship, and are currently in P4 with 362 points.

Ferrari boss's criticism of Lewis Hamilton and Co.

The Ferrari chairperson, John Elkann, criticized the drivers and urged them to talk less and focus on driving. Speaking to the media after the race, here's what he said:

"Brazil was a big disappointment. Looking at the Formula 1 championship, we can say that we have our mechanics, who are basically winning the championship with their performance and everything that has been done on the pitstops. Our engineers have undoubtedly improved the car. But when it comes to the rest, it is still not up to par."

"And surely we have drivers who need to focus on driving and talk less. We still have important races ahead of us, and it is not impossible to achieve second place [in the constructors]. This is the most important message, because Bahrain itself is the demonstration that, when everyone at Ferrari work together, we win," he further added. (Via Motorsport.com)

After 21 races and five sprints, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton occupy P5 and P6 of the Drivers' Championship with 214 and 148 points, respectively. Lando Norris is leading the championship with 390.
