Lando Norris came into the Brazilian GP as the championship leader after winning the Mexican GP and passing Oscar Piastri in the title race. He took the sprint pole position, followed by a comfortable win, while his teammate and title rival, retired from the race after spinning out of turn 3.

For the main race, Lando Norris started on pole position while others behind him scrambled for position. On the race restart following Gabriel Bortoleto's crash, Oscar Piastri, Kimi Antonelli, and Charles Leclerc came together in turn 1, which resulted in the Australian getting up to P2, but then getting a 10-second penalty for causing a collision.

The Briton stayed in the effective lead for the entirety of the race and won. Norris took to Instagram and shared a carousel of three images from the Brazilian GP weekend. Two of the images were with the trophy, while the last slide was a video of the fans cheering for him.

“enjoyed that 1 a lot. obrigado brasil 🇧🇷💚”, read the caption of the McLaren driver's post

Margarida Corceiro’s comment possibly referenced the song chosen by Norris for the post, which was “ACELERADA by sma$her, MXZI”, which is a Portuguese song. Lando Norris' girlfriend, Magui, was born and brought up in Portugal and is a model and influencer. The two were first spotted together last year at the Monte Carlo Masters, followed by the Portuguese model's appearance at the 2024 Moonaco GP.

“It’s a great win, but to be honest, seeing how quick Max was today I’m pretty disappointed that we weren’t quicker,” he explained via Formula 1's official website. “That’s where my mind’s at at the minute. I’m probably going to see the team, congratulate them and see where we weren’t quick enough.”

“That’s me, we’ll see what we can do. It’s not a long way to go but I’m just focused on myself – keep my head down, ignore everyone and keep pushing,” he added

The McLaren driver is now 24 points ahead of Oscar Piastri in the title race with three races to go.
