Lando Norris arrived at the McLaren HQ on Wednesday as an F1 world champion for the first time and could not hide the shake of pure joy in his hands. The Briton walked through a guard of honor formed by the entire team as Papaya confetti rained down from above.Norris immortalized himself in the F1 history books at the Abu Dhabi GP as he claimed his maiden drivers' title to become the 35th driver to do so. He also became the 11th British driver to win a world championship and the first since Lewis Hamilton.He is also the first McLaren world champion since Hamilton, who also secured his maiden title with the team in 2008. Hence, his first visit back to the McLaren Technology Centre after winning the title was always going to be a special moment.On Wednesday, the 26-year-old arrived in Woking and was greeted by every member of the team working at the MTC. Staff formed a guard of honor as Papaya confetti fell through the lobby while Norris walked in smiling. McLaren later shared a video of the moment on Instagram.At the end of the clip, Norris could be heard admitting he was overwhelmed by the ovation he had received."I'm shaking!" he said. The McLaren driver said his entire journey flashed through his mind during the final laps at the Yas Marina Circuit.Speaking in the post-race press conference in Abu Dhabi, Norris explained what he was thinking about after securing the ultimate prize in motorsport."So much goes into achieving what we've achieved today. You know, from all those years ago when I saw Formula 1 on the TV, when I saw a go kart for the first time, my memories the last couple laps were really just that," Norris said.He then turned his attention to his family and spoke about the support he has received over the years. Norris thanked his parents for the sacrifices they made during his rise through the ranks. He also mentioned his brother and sister and admitted he could not stay in touch with them as much as he wished while chasing his dream.
