Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has given his take on rumors of the Woking-based McLaren favoring Lando Norris over Oscar Piastri in the 2025 drivers' championship fight. In line with this, Marko has come up with a blunt response.Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been at each other's throats from the very start of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Both have put in exemplary performances, and it is for this reason, the gap between them is only 24 points with three races remaining. In recent times, it has been suggested that McLaren may be favoring Norris in the drivers' championship. However, Helmut Marko does not see this as a factor. In his opinion, Oscar Piastri has just been making too many mistakes. Marko recently had an interaction with Oe24 and added:"That's just a rumor, it can never be proven. Piastri suddenly makes mistakes and Norris doesn't anymore, that's all."The competition in the ongoing campaign has been extremely close up and down the field. During the early/mid phase, Piastri was leading the championship, but during the ongoing business end, Norris has gotten the jump on his teammate. In terms of wins and podiums, there is not much separating the two drivers. After 21 rounds, the Brit has seven victories and 17 podiums, and Piastri has seven victories and 14 podiums. Round 22, the Las Vegas Grand Prix, is slated to take place on the upcoming Sunday.Lando Norris has a special race helmet for Las Vegas GPF1 Grand Prix of Brazil - Source: GettyLando Norris is the talk of the town in Formula 1, being the leader in the 2025 drivers' standings. I wanted to mark the road to this point with something unique, and collaborating with Werner on a helmet felt like the perfect way to illustrate the journey so far."In 2024, the Las Vegas Grand Prix was won by Mercedes driver George Russell. Lando Norris, on his end, was only able to manage a P6 finish behind Max Verstappen. However, keeping in view how well McLaren's MCL39 has performed at different tracks throughout the 2025 F1 season, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will be the favorites for the victory. The Australian driver will try his absolute best to have the upper hand on Norris throughout the race weekend, and hopefully, at the end of it all, manage to close down the current 24-point gap.
