The FIA has finally released its 2024 F1 Cost Cap Compliance report, in which nine teams were found to comply with the regulations, with Aston Martin having committed a "procedural breach." This news has come as a surprise to many, as multiple rumors during the last week suggested that at least one more team was in breach of the regulations.

The FIA usually publishes its Cost Cap Compliance report in September, but a delay this year has given rise to multiple rumors. Unconfirmed reports were flying in the F1 paddock recently, suggesting that the 2024 constructors' champions, McLaren, could potentially be in breach of the cost cap. Some rumors also suggested Mercedes as a potential offender.

The sport's governing body, on Tuesday, released its official Cost Cap Compliance report regarding the 2024 season, and no team has been found in breach of the cost cap. Aston Martin was found guilty of a procedural breach "of a very minor nature," and the team has not actually breached the cost cap either.

The FIA's report read:

"9 F1 Teams found in compliance for 2024, and Procedural Breach identified for AMR GP Ltd (AMR).
"The CCA confirms that although AMR has been found to be in Procedural Breach, it has not exceeded the Cost Cap level, and that the Procedural Breach was of a very minor nature, originated by unpredictable circumstances outside the control of the F1 Team."

The FIA also confirmed that they have agreed an Accepted Breach Settlement with Aston Martin on September 29 to resolve the matter. They have also announced that all five engine manufacturers have also been found in compliance for 2024.

Aston Martin was reported to have made a procedural breach in its 2024 F1 Cost Cap filings, thanks to a delay from the auditor handling the report. The team had apparently prepared their documents in time, but a delay in acquiring a "crucial signature" was the reason behind their missing the deadline to submit their report.

Aston Martin is the only team to have been found guilty in any way in the FIA's 2024 Cost Cap Compliance report. But as previously mentioned, the governing body has recognized this breach to be of a 'very minor nature,' and occurring due to circumstances beyond the British team's control.

Motorsport.com had earlier reported that this procedural breach was related to the Silverstone-based outfit missing the March 31 deadline of handing in their compliance certificate. This was reportedly due to their auditor being unable to provide a relevant signature in time, in circumstances beyond the team's control.

Since Lawrence Stroll's team did not actually overspend and complied with the FIA through the ABS, no sporting penalties will be applied to the outfit.
