Formula 1 made a press release on December 16, 2025, and announced a multi-year contract extension with Fancode, which became the exclusive F1 broadcaster in India. According to the press release, the Indian based sport based OTT platform has signed a deal until the end of the 2028 season.
F1 was primarily broadcast in India over the Star Sports network in the 2010s. Following Disney's acquisition of the majority share of the Star Sports Network in 2019, F1 races were then broadcast on the Disney+ Hotstar (now Jio Hotstar) OTT platform.
Star Sports failed to renew its rights with Formula 1 after the 2022 season, and F1 failed to secure any broadcast in India for the 2023 season, which left the fans in the subcontinent with just the option to watch the races on F1TV. At a time when the sport was booming across the globe, not having an exclusive broadcaster in India was a missed opportunity.
Nevertheless, ahead of the 2024 season, Formula 1 signed a contract with sports-based OTT platform Fancode as the official broadcaster. Fancode soon became the choice of the Indian F1 fans to watch the races with multiple offers provided by the platform, which included a season-long pass or a race pass for any specific race.

The latest press release confirmed Fancode as the official broadcasting partner for Formula 1 in India until the end of the 2028 season. F1 TV will continue to be available as an option for the fans. Fancode will also have the broadcasting rights for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, becoming the premier network to watch F1 in the subcontinent.
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Formula 1 for three more years. This expanded deal firmly establishes FanCode as the home of all things F1 in India, and we're excited to keep serving one of the country's most passionate and fastest-growing sports communities. Fans have shown tremendous trust in our platform, and we will continue to deliver on their expectations, whether through livestreams, enhanced features or curated F1 community experiences,” said Yannick Colaco, the co-founder of Fancode (via the press release)
Apple becomes the official broadcasting partner of Formula 1 in the US
