Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was left raging after the Las Vegas Grand Prix qualifying as he went into an expletive-laden rant. The driver was left quizzed by how far off the pace he was during the wet session on Friday as he qualified in ninth place.
After looking strong during Thursday practice, Charles Leclerc did not have the best of times during qualifying on Friday at the Las Vegas GP. The rain made the tracks extremely slippery. The Ferrari drivers did not fare well on the wet track in comparison to the previously dry conditions.
While Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in Q1 and will start the race from dead last, Leclerc made it through to Q3. But the Monegasque was unable to make much of an impression once he got there as he could only manage to finish ninth.
After the session ended, Leclerc came over the team radio and launched into an explosive rant. When told he had qualified in ninth, he replied, saying:
"Oh my god, embarrassing. F***ing embarrassing, f***ing hell! I don‘t get how we can be so off the pace, there is like zero grip, zero f***ing grip."
At the end of the session, Leclerc was over three tenths of a second behind Isack Hadjar's Racing Bulls in eighth. He was unable to improve on his final lap in Q3 as he had to drive into the run-off area after locking up in the early stages of his lap.
Lando Norris secured a seventh pole position of the season at the Strip Circuit on Friday with a 1:47.934 best time. Max Verstappen will start the race alongside him on the front row with Williams' Carlos Sainz in third. The Spaniard could have a penalty coming his way though as he was summoned to the stewards after the session.
Charles Leclerc shares his verdict on Ferrari after Las Vegas GP qualifying

Charles Leclerc delivered a his verdict on Ferrari after the Las Vegas GP qualifying claiming that the team is 'doing something wrong'. He made this claim in reference to their performance in wet conditions ever since he joined the team back in 2019.
Speaking to the media after the session on Friday, Leclerc explained that the Italian team has struggled to be competitive in wet conditions for a long time now.
"Since I joined the team, we've been struggling massively at finding the grip in those kind of conditions. It's hugely frustrating because it's probably been my biggest strength in the junior categories. We are doing something wrong," said Leclerc [via F1TV].
Leclerc also added that he had no idea what exactly the issue is that stops Ferrari from being competitive in the wet. He also explained that he had no grip in the car whatsoever and that it was also 'very very unpredictable'.
