Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, has been competing in the pinnacle of motorsport since 2015. He has so far managed to amass 230 race starts during which he has put on board an impressive 68 wins, 124 podiums, and 47 pole positions alongside his four drivers' world championships.

Having been in the sport for several years, there are certain things that just don't sit well with him. For starters, Verstappen is not a huge fan of street circuits and also does not like three-day race weekends. Via a recent interaction with Autosport, the Dutchman added:

"Less races, not so many street circuits. A straightforward calendar. No Sprints, one practice, one qualifying and a race."

In line with Verstappen's reaction, Damon Hill has taken to his Instagram stories:

Formula 1 has come a long way in terms of advancement in recent years. New street circuits like Las Vegas, Jeddah, and Miami have also become integral parts of the sport. Moreover, the Sprint format has been in play since 2021.

Verstappen has always been a bit old-school in terms of his preferences, and he has, on quite a few occasions, advocated for keeping the traditional racetracks on the race calendar and not getting them removed because of the addition of new ones.

"There’s also not much I can do – we need a lot of luck now until the end to even have an opportunity, so personally I don’t think about that." (Via: F1)

Verstappen further talked about having a chance at victory in Las Vegas:

"Looking back at Brazil, yeah, I guess so, because the race pace was pretty decent. Of course I would have liked to start more at the front, but at the same time it was fun. I had a good time out there racing through the pack and fighting until the final lap. Of course it was only for P2, but I had good fun and I hope we can be competitive this weekend."

After the Las Vegas Grand Prix race weekend, the Qatar Grand Prix and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are the other two race weekends remaining on the 2025 F1 calendar.
