Formula 1 is in Qatar for the penultimate race weekend of the 2025 season, the Qatar GP. After the sprint earlier on Saturday, it was time for the Qualifying for Sunday's race, where Oscar Piastri of McLaren claimed the pole ahead of his teammate, Lando Norris.
Piastri pulled off a stunning final flying lap to set himself for the pole. With 1:19.387 on the timesheet, he was over a tenth faster than his teammate Norris. Behind Piastri and Norris, Max Verstappen will start from P3.
The Mercedes duo of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will start from P4, and P5, respectively. Isack Hadjar and Carlos Sainz will start from P6, and P7, respectively. Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, and Charles Leclerc have set P8, P9, and P10, respectively, and wrapped up the Top 10. Lewis Hamilton had yet another shocking exit from Q1 of the qualifying as he had to go out in P18.

Oscar Piastri let his feelings known after stellar Qatar GP qualifying efforts

Oscar Piastri, the McLaren star driver has shared his thoughts after grabbing pole on Saturday for the Qatar GP. Speaking to the media after the qualifying, here's what he said (via FIA's official website):
"Very happy. Pretty tough [tomorrow] with the two-stops, we'll be pushing flat out the whole time. I'm expecting a pretty tough race, it will be hard work. No, we left it pretty much the same, minor tweaks here and there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The team did a very good job."
Oscar Piastri is currently trailing his teammate, Lando Norris in the Drivers' Championship by 22 points with a point tally of 374. Max Verstappen, another contender in the championship, is breathing down his neck with 371 points.
