Formula 1 is in Las Vegas for the 22nd race of the ongoing 2025 season, the Las Vegas GP. Being the third last race of the season, it holds an extra importance in the Drivers' Championship. Lando Norris of McLaren claimed the pole position ahead of his title rival, Max Verstappen.
Norris managed a fiery 1:47.934 on a wet track, which was 0.323 seconds faster than Verstappen. Carlos Sainz of Williams qualified in P3, ahead of Mercedes' George Russell.
Oscar Piastri, who is trailing his teammate in the championship, is in P5 ahead of Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson. Fernando Alonso, Isack Hadjar, Charles Leclerc, and Pierre Gasly wrapped up in the top 10 positions.
Lewis Hamilton had a shocking exit from the qualifying as he finished in P20, which was his first time in his F1 career. Yuki Tsunoda, the other Red Bull driver, also had a disappointing end to his qualifying with P19.

Las Vegas GP pole sitter let his feelings known after stellar qualifying
Lando Norris shared his thoughts after claiming the Las Vegas GP pole. Speaking about his stellar yet "stressful" session, here's what the McLaren driver said:

"Boy, it was stressful, stressful as hell. I didn't know that anyone behind me Not the nicest of conditions, but pleased it stopped raining and we could get Qualifying done."
After 21 races, Lando Norris is leading the Drivers' Championship with 390 points. He leads Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen by 49 and 25 points, respectively. McLaren has already picked up the Constructors' Championship.
