Shedeur Sanders is a quarterback and played for the Colorado Buffaloes football team. He is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, who serves as the head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes as of April 2025. Shedeur began his college football career with the Jackson State Tigers in 2021. Shedeur transferred to Colorado in 2023 after completing his sophomore year at Jackson State. In 2021, he was part of the Jackson State squad, which went on to win its first SWAC East title since 2013.

Sanders also earned the SWAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, SWAC Freshman of the Year, and Stats Perform Jerry Rice FCS National Freshman of the Year. He earned a spot in the Pre-season All-SWAC First Team, BOXTOROW Pre-season All-American team, and also won the SWAC Pre-season Player of the Year award, as per his college roster. In 2023, as a Buffaloes quarterback, Sanders played in 11 games and went on to throw for 3200 yards, while throwing for 27 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions, as recorded by Sports Reference. His career-high numbers across the board came in his 2024 season, registering 4,134 yards and 37 passing touchdowns, as per Sports Reference.
