Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft made headlines last week after his leaked audio from a team meeting with his players went viral on social media. In the recording, Kraft was discussing the Nittany Lions' situation this season, while also taking digs at Michigan and Oregon during a team meeting.On Monday, Kraft apologized for some of the comments he made during the audio leak. "What I will tell you about that is I'm embarrassed," Kraft said. "I apologize to anyone I might have offended with that video that leaked. Personally, it's been challenging for me. But I am very passionate about Penn State. ... I fell short of the standard that I should represent."We're moving on. We handle it in the family."In one part of the audio clip, Kraft was heard taking an explicit-laden dig at Michigan while referencing its national title triumph under Jim Harbaugh in the 2023 season during a controversial sign-stealing scandal.“Ohio State is Ohio State, but f*ck it ain't," Kraft said. "It’s not like they’re lightyears better than us, talented-wise. Just can’t be able to get over the f*cking hump! Michigan f*cking stinks. f*cking joke. Cheating their balls off. That’s real, by the way, what they did."Pat Kraft also referred to Dan Lanning's Oregon as "frauds" in another segment of the audio. "Oregon? Their f*cking quarterback was shaking in overtime. The Nittany Lions fired James Franklin after a 3-3 start to this season, and Terry Smith was named interim coach.The Nittany Lions finished the season with a 6-6 record, including three straight wins. With six wins, Penn State is bowl eligible. Campbell served as Iowa State’s coach for the past 10 years. He left the Cyclones as the winningest coach in the program’s history. Campbell was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year (2017, 2018, 2020) three times.
