Best Pokemon TCG Pocket Mega Pidgeot ex deck guide: Strategy breakdown

1) Mega Pidgeot ex
- HP: 210
- Move: Giant Twister - 100 Damage
- Effect: Flip 3 coins. Each heads makes your opponent discard a random Energy from their Active Pokemon. If all flips are tails, the attack fails
- Energy Cost: 3 Colorless Energy
- Retreat Cost: 2 Energy
Mega Pidgeot ex does a mix of consistent damage and crucial disruption. Giant Twister’s flat 100 damage is effective to two-shot most cards in the game, but its real value lies in stripping Energy from opposing Pokemon whenever you hit heads.
The only drawback is that if all coin flips land tails, this move is a miss. But that’s where Will helps. Since the attack requires only Colorless Energy, the deck is best suited to run Water Energy, with a few support cards that synergize well with the deck.
2) Chatot (Mythical Island)
- HP: 60
- Move: Mimic - No Damage
- Effect: Shuffle your hand into your deck, then draw the same number of cards as the opponent’s hand
- Energy Cost: 1 Colorless Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 Energy
Chatot is the perfect opener. It doesn’t deal damage, but it speeds up your setup. Mimic keeps your hand rotating and helps you dig for crucial cards. Since it requires only one Energy, you can focus on setting up your bench, especially the Energy-hungry Mega Pidgeot ex.
3) Qwilfish (Wisdom of Sea and Sky)
- HP: 80
- Move: Poison Sting - 20 Damage
- Effect: Poisons the opponent’s Active Pokémon
- Energy Cost: 1 Water Energy
- Retreat Cost: 2 Energy
Qwilfish is your alternate opener. It deals light damage and applies Poison, which adds extra pressure each turn. With only a single Water Energy required, Qwilfish also buys you time while Mega Pidgeot ex is being set up.
Use Qwilfish and Chatot early to cycle your deck, apply chip damage, and stall long enough for Mega Pidgeot ex to get ready.
