Dynamax Lugia in Pokemon GO makes its debut on November 29, 2025. It will be available in 5-star Max Battles from 6 am to 9 pm local time on Saturday, November 29, and Sunday, November 30, 2025. This is the seventh Dynamax Legendary to be added to the game, following the three Kanto birds and the three Johto beasts.

5-star Max Battles

Dynamax Lugia will be available in 5-star Max Battles on November 29, and Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 6 am to 9 pm local time.

You must spend 800 MP to enter the battle alongside up to three other trainers, with each player using up to three Pocket Monsters. However, the cost will only be incurred if you come out victorious. Remote participation is also allowed, and will cost a Remote Raid Pass alongside the required Max Particle cost.

Trade

If you are unable to get Dynamax Lugia on your own, you can always ask an in-game friend to trade you one. However, you should note that this will always count as a Special Trade. You should complete this transaction with someone you have a high friendship level with to minimize Stardust cost.

Can Dynamax Lugia be shiny in Pokemon GO?

Yes, it is possible to get Shiny Dynamax Lugia in Pokemon GO. There is a 1-in-20 or 5% chance of finding one every time you win the fight. If you are lucky enough to encounter one, it will be a guaranteed catch.
