Companions in The Division 2 Year 7 Season 3 Mutiny
Who are companions?
Starting with this new season, Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) Agents can recruit True Sons defectors as allies. Several members of this faction have broken away from the group and taken up arms against their cause. This has enabled SHD Agents to recruit willing members as Companions.

SHD Agents can work together with the companion and order them to focus on specific targets, reposition, or support the team. You must work together with your new ally as a team leader and utilize the new seasonal modifier to fight the opposing factions.
How to recruit companions?
While exporing Washington DC, you will encouter True Sons factions as one of the many that oppose Strategic Homeland Division. During such a fight, you might come across a few individual that break rank and pickup arms against their faction.

You can talk to them if they survive the fight and then recruit them as your companion. Before doing so, you can check out the specialties and archetype of a particular True Sons defector.

- Medic: a defensive support unit who focuses on healing, cleansing and reviving the team.

Seasonal Modifier in The Division 2 Year 7 Season 3 Mutiny
Global Modifier
The new seasonal modifier makes use of the companion system debuting with The Division 2 Year 7 Season 3 Mutiny. Titled "Command Link", the new global modifier for this season allows SHD Agents to play alongside their recruited allies and build up a meter. Upon completing certain actions, you will acquire bonuses that grand temporary buffs.

Do note that with continued use, bonus modifier XP allows you to level up these abilities.
Passive bonuses gained from companion archetypes
As you keep recruiting more companions, you will gain passive bonuses for yourself. This bonus relies on the number of companions you have recruited throughout the season. This bonus metric stays active regardless of the Global Modifier or companion deployment.
- Assault recruits grant +1.5% Weapon Damage, up to 15%.
- Medic recruits grant +2% Hazard Protection, up to 20%.
- Engineer recruits grant +1.5% Skill Efficiency, up to 15%.
How companions work in co-op
During co-op play, only one agent can have their companion active at a time. Each agent can have their recruited ally active for 90 seconds, following which, another member of the squad can deploy theirs. The Command Link meter for each SHD Agent in the squad depends on their actions related to the currently active companion.
Command Link meter progress will reset as soon as an Active Modifier is trriggered or when the active companion is changed/downed.
