Soulframe: How to join Alca's Children

Alca's Children is one of Soulframe's three factions you can join, and run Faction Tales from. This one is particularly lucrative after the Prelude 12 update, as it not only has the Ode Tempest pact, but now Odiac as a redeemable ware. For reference: Odiac is one of, if not the most, powerful magicka weapon right now, and now you can use it as a sidearm.

If you aren't in it for the wares or cosmetics, Alca's Children lets you roleplay a true Sproutfolk-kin Avakot Knight. Here's how you can enter this faction in Soulframe.

How to enter the Alca's Children Enclave in Soulframe

Like with all Soulframe factions, the Alca's Children Enclave is the headquarter from where you need to join, level up, and purchase wares from this faction. Alca's Children Enclave is close to the middle-western coast of Midrath in Soulframe.

If you've uncovered the map (the World Tree is the one due west of Fort Curlail, but north of Birdie's Bog), the best starting point is the small inlet at the midway-point along the western coastline. From here, look east to find a cave hidden in the cliff-face.

This is Hilly-Den, and Alca's Children is hidden behind an illusionary wall within. Turn to your right once you enter, and you'll see a hole on the roof, and there's a small sproutfolk shrine embeeded into the wall under it.

If you interact with it, the shrine asks for a jewel borne not from stone. The solution here is to deposite a River Pearl here. River Pearls are found near rivers in Soulframe, as the name may indicate, but if you didn't have any luck near the starting area, look around the streams inland. River Pearls can also be potentially sold by Avakot, but his wares reroll every few hours or so.

After you give it a River Pearl, the illusion dispels, and you can enter the Alca's Children base.

If you started with Oscelda as your starting pact, you will already have the key item that you need to join Alca's Children: a Sproutfolk Totem. If you started with a different pact, though, you can only enter the Enclave, but are unable to join the faction till you craft the Totem.

Like with all other faction-related Totems in Soulframe's current version, you need to get its fragment (which can drop from common chests in the overworld) and then craft it with a Sacred Shimmer.

To obtain a Sacred Shimmer, join any other faction (you can automatically join Kith of Kings if you started with Tethren, or Silent Rose if you started as Sirin). Rank up this Faction to Rank 3, and then you can buy it for 7500 Standing.

After you have the Sproutfolk Totem, you can join Alca's Children by talking to Avakot inside the Enclave, and then selecting "Where do I stand?"
