Shaman is one of two Ascendancies coming in Path of Exile 2 The Last of the Druids update. Being a Hybrid class, the Druid has access to both Strength and Intelligence nodes, letting you lean into both melee and spell-casting build types. This allows him to utilize Rage as a spellcaster to empower elemental attacks further.
Another interesting thing about the Shaman is his ability to gain additional bonuses from Runes and Idols. Using the Wisdom of the Maji Ascendancy passive, he can unlock additional effects on various Socketables. While we still don’t know all of the effects, the live stream showcased a few, including increased Critical Chance and Damage.
Lastly, what good is a Druid who cannot harness the power of nature? With the Bringer of the Apocalypse node, you’ll be able to rain down an elemental apocalypse of all three elements after dealing enough elemental Damage.

The Rage regeneration mechanics from Furious Wellspring are something to look out for. Having a constant source of Rage will make it easy to spec into melee-based builds. However, with Druidic Champion, you can also lean into a spell-casting build at the same time, creating a first-ever true hybrid gameplay style in Path of Exile 2.
