The most recent GGG Live for Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4 showcased the long-awaited character class, Druid. He’s a hybrid spell caster and shapeshifter who can transform into three different primal forms while also using the power of nature to wreak havoc across Wraeclast.
Transforming into a beast is also seamless and doesn’t require a gimmick, allowing you to chain combos between the human and primal form. Here are all the primal forms of the Druid in Path of Exile 2, along with all the abilities you can use.
All primal forms for Druid in Path of Exile 2
1) Bear form

The Bear is a walking tank that uses Rage mechanics in Path of Exile 2 and takes down all enemies with various slam attacks. This form is meant to hit hard, but is also slower than others, which may make it feel bulky in combat.
- Basic attack: The basic attack for the Bear form is Maul, which will also trigger your primal transformation in Path of Exile 2. Any enemy hit by the attack will grant Rage that you can consume to empower other attacks.
- Furious Slam: This is a great crowd-control skill for clearing out an entire horde. Head into a pack of enemies and use the skill to slam the ground in an AoE. It can also consume Rage to deal more damage.
- Rampage: Consume Rage to run around stomping the ground, dealing AoE damage. If you use this skill while near a Volcano, it will create additional lava projectiles.
- Ferocious Road: This is a new Metaskill and a warcry that empowers your next attack based on Endurance Charges and allows you to break enemy armor. You can also equip other warcries in this skill to gain their buff on every use.
- Walking Calamity: Consume Rage to unleash the Bear forms’ ultimate ability, Walking Calamity. While active, the skill creates a ring of fire around you and grants extra damage and Rage to all your attacks.
2) Werewolf form

The Werewolf form is much more nimble and agile, allowing for a much faster-paced combat in Path of Exile 2’s League start. Most of the attacks deal cold damage and utilize ailments like Freeze. However, you can also summon a pack of wolves to assist you in combat, making it a hybrid minion.
- Basic attack: Leap forward and perform quick slashes. The attacks are in quick succession and can deal a lot of damage.
- Lunar Assault: Perform an AoE sweep attack that freezes enemies. Then use basic attack to break off shards of ice from frozen enemies, which will later explode and deal damage.
- Pounce: Jump on an enemy and apply a mark, which will summon a wolf minion on defeating that enemy. It’s also a Metagem and allows you to socket other mark abilities for maximum curse application.
- Cross Slash: Jump back and perform a double slash. Performing this attack will explode any mark and grant a related effect, meaning you can still summon wolf minions during boss fights. This attack also works well with Lunar Assault by bringing all ice shards towards a target to deal maximum explosion damage.
- Arctic Howl: This skill is a warcry that creates a chilled ground and adds cold damage to your attacks, while buffing the wolf pack, if you have any.
- Lunar Blessing: The Werewolf howls at the moon and gains its blessing. For a duration, you’ll transform into an Arctic Werewolf who’ll be much faster and deadlier. If you have any Rage from the Bear form, using this skill will consume it to gain additional duration for the transformation.
3) Wyvern form

The final transformation for the Druid in Path of Exile 2 is the Wyvern form, which will transform you into a fire-breathing dragon. Apart from its menacing looks, you get a variety of attacks, including one where you can eat an enemy whole to gain additional buffs.
- Basic attack: This is your default melee attack, which isn’t that special until you gain a Power Charge, which allows you to turn the skill into a lightning-infused AOE melee attack.
- Devour: Just as the name suggests, you can devour corpses of enemies to gain Power Charges, but this skill also acts as a culling strike against smaller foes. Once you see a blue icon on someone, use this skill to eat them alive.
- Wing Blast: Deal AoE damage in front of you and knock enemies back by sending out a gust of wind. While lightning-infused, the attack will also chain lightning to enemies.
- Rolling Magma: As a dragon, you can also spew out magma orbs that will bounce along a straight path, dealing damage to all enemies in its AoE. It’s a separate skill in Path of Exile 1, and will likely feature similar mechanics.
- Oil Barrage: This ability allows you to drench enemies in oil, making them vulnerable to Ignite. While you have a Power Charge, you’ll also fire lightning darts for additional damage.
- Flame Breath: This is the ultimate skill in Wyvern form, where you take flight and rain down flaming breath from above. While in the air, you are immune to all enemy attacks.
While everyone expected the Bear and Werewolf form, following multiple teasers for Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4, the Wyvern comes as a complete surprise. At the moment, it’s hard to say which one will be the meta, as each one seems to synergize well with the human form.
