Tomato seeds are one of the crucial farming items in the mid to late game of Palworld. Getting a proper tomato plantation setup is necessary to unlock some of the most reliable food recipes in the game. So if you are looking for long-term farming automation or want to add some extra items to your food source, getting Tomato Seeds is one of the more efficient ways to do it.
In this guide, we will break down how to get Tomato Seeds, how to grow them, which Pals drop them frequently, and what you can use them for.
How to acquire Tomato Seeds in Palworld
In Palworld, you can get Tomato Seeds from three primary sources: catching specific Pals, purchasing from vendors, or farming specific bosses constantly.

1) It can drop from specific Pals
In Palworld, you have a chance to get Tomato Seeds from catching or defeating Pals. So exploring the world and hunting down these specific creatures is the most efficient way open to you.
- Broncherry (Paldeck #048): These Pals can be found in the Bamboo groves in the Ascetic Falls. They spawn in groups, making them the most efficient source of Tomato Seeds.
- Mossanda (Paldeck #030): Found in the Mossanda Forest, these Pals are tankier than Boncherry. However, they spawn in clusters as well, making them a solid farming option.
- Dinossom Lux (Paldeck #064B): You can find them in the Dessicated Desert, Duneshelter. This is a high-level option and is recommended for mid- to late-game players. It is a good source of Tomato Seeds, as it has a very reliable drop rate.
- Vaelet (Paldeck #078): This field boss also drops Tomato Seeds when defeated. It is not the most ideal farming option since it has a respawn time of one hour, but you can add him in your farming loop for the extra experience and loot.
- Wumpo Botan (Paldeck #091B): This boss spawns in the Wilderness Sanctuary No. 2. While it has a guaranteed drop chance for Tomato Seeds, it also has an hour of respawn cooldown, making it not the ideal choice when farming.

2) Purchase from Wandering Merchants

If you don’t want to explore and farm Tomato Seeds from Pals, you can always buy them from wandering merchants.
- Buying cost: 200 Gold
- Selling price: 20 Gold
Wandering Marchants can be found in almost every major settlement in Palworld, but the ones located in Fisherman’s Point and Duneshelter are the most reliable source for buying Tomato Seeds.
Tips
You can catch Wandering Merchants and put them in your territory using a Pal Sphere. This will significantly lower the time it takes to travel between settlements. But it’s a risky move, as you can get the Wanted Status and the Palpagos Island Defense Force (PIDF) will come after you.
How to avoid fighting the PIDF:
- If you have a flying Pal, hop on it and leave the area.
How to avoid getting the Wanted Status:
- When you are planning to catch a Merchant, never attack them directly. Only use your Pals to attack the Merchant. The Wanted Status is placed only when you attack an NPC yourself.
