Gizmo Weft is a surprise from Bungie to the Destiny 2 community, as it has been added to the loot pool ahead of schedule. Players weren't supposed to get this weapon as a drop before the Call to Arms event next year, which is still a few months away. However, it seems that this new Strand Mountaintop will be dropping from every upcoming event.

To get the Gizmo Weft Grenade Launcher, you can farm any activity in the Portal with the "Distorted Dawning Engram" as its bonus drop. After completion, once the Engrams drop as reward, there is a small chance for the Gizmo Weft to drop as well.
