When it comes to the best leveling build for a Diablo 4 Sorcerer, I was honestly quite torn. I still think the tried-and-true Chain Lightning is the best, but I did see a really cool Incinerate build that I almost went with for this season. The only reason I didn’t is because several of the Legendary Aspects that make it really pop off require luck/RNG. That’s not something I want to rely on for a build, so I opted for Chain Lightning.
Whether or not this build will transition into a nice, powerful Chain Lightning build remains to be seen for Diablo 4 Season 11, but I have hope it will be decent. In general, I don’t know that Sorcerer is going to stand out quite as much as Necromancer or Barbarian will, but there will always be options. Here’s what you need to know going into S11.
How does Sorcerer Chain Lightning leveling build work in Diablo 4 Season 11?
Chain Lightning Sorcerer is not only an easy leveling build in Diablo 4, it’s one of the best. It’s a pretty relaxing build, allowing for intricate, clever gameplay if you want, or you can just mash lightning spells and push your way through a great deal of the leveling process.

It takes advantage of the power of Familiar, casting a Shock spell and then Familiar to get Lightning familiars to help you fight. You use Frost Nova to inflict Vulnerable, and spam Chain Lightning while you have more than 50 mana (because of Electrical Dominance talent). When you’re under 50, you use Arc Lash to recharge your mana, and deal damage.
Against powerful Elites and Bosses, you will be using Unstable Currents, and using all three of your Familiar charges. You should always have an Elixir on when killing enemies, for the exp bonus if nothing else. I recommend Elixir of Resourcefulness II, Precision II, or Advantage II.
I like this build a lot for Diablo 4 Season 11 Sorcerers because you aren’t hard-required to have anything, but you can. Recharging Aspect can be fantastic, because it gives you mana back when Chain Lightning bounces, so it’s something to consider (complete Zenith dungeon). I also recommend having:
Potential Aspects
- Elemental Constellation
- Conceited
- Control
- Retribution
- Unbroken Tether
- Lightning Rod
- Elementalist’s
- Edgemaster’s
Abilities used
- Chain Lightning
- Arc Lash
- Teleport
- Familiar
- Unstable Currents
- Frost Nova
Talents and Enchantments for Diablo 4 Season 11 Chain Lightning Sorcerer leveling build
Below, we go over all of the Talents you should pick up in Diablo 4 as a part of this Sorcerer leveling build. If you feel like you need to change it up or go with other talents, that’s perfectly fine. Like most builds, we’re going to focus a lot on passives, but you will definitely want lots of ranks in Chain Lightning and a handful in Unstable Currents for more damage.
When you gain access to the Enchantment System, you’re going to want to assign Fireball as your first one. This gives you better clear in the early game. When you hit level 30, and can add a second slot, make that Chain Lightning.
Ideal Divine Gifts for Sorcerer leveling build in Diablo 4 Season 11
I don’t know that Divine Gifts are really going to come into play in the leveling process of Diablo 4 Season 11 as Sorcerers, perhaps except for Essence of Squalor. The Divine Gift version of that will let Maggots in helltides drop Experience Globes, which are doubled in that slot. In addition, higher ranks increase the potency of the Experience Globes, making it a very desirable focus. The others I don’t know are going to be as useful until you hit the endgame.
Which Mercenary and Rune Combos to pick for Diablo 4 Season 11 Sorcerer leveling build

Unfortunately, we’re pretty squishy as Sorcerers in Diablo 4 Season 11, so we’re going with the best of the Mercenaries as primary, and that’s Raheir. His backup will continue to be Varyana, because she’s an amazing backup.
Raheir’s skills
- Ground Slam
- Raheir’s Aegis
- Bastion
- Inspiration
Varyana option
- Bloodthirst (when player casts any skill in combat)
There are plenty of amazing options for Sorcerers when it comes to Rune Combos, but we’re going to go with one aggressive, one defensive pairing. Cir+Gar is the Cast 5 skills then become exhausted+Gain 2.5% Critical Strike Chance for 5 seconds, up to 25%. It’s definitely one of my favorites. Feo+Lac is the other, which gives you 1,000 Offering when you are Injured or Crowd Controlled+Evoke the Barbarian’s Challenging Shout, reducing damage taken for 3 seconds.
Which Uniques and Legendary Aspects help you transition into endgame builds?
There are a couple of potentially powerful builds to transition into, when it comes to the late game of Diablo 4 Season 11 as a Sorcerer. I’m mostly looking at Esadora Crack and Frozen Orb as potentially great builds. I have a really good feeling about Frozen Orb in particular.
