While Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred isn’t coming until 2026, you won’t have to wait all year. D4’s Lord of Hatred expansion is dropping on April 28, 2026! Here’s everything we know about the upcoming expansion so far.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred release date, and all currently known content

When Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred drops on April 28, 2026, it will launch with a new campaign, new classes, and will wrap up our current storyline with Mephisto. The current struggle against Mephisto is going to lead both him and players to Skovos, the sacred islands, which was originally going to appear in Diablo 3.

We’ll need to tap into the power of some truly unlikely allies to overcome Mephisto and his followers, as they spread across the land. It sounds like we’re also going to need Lilith herself, so we can reach the Pools of Creation and stop him once and for all.

We know that not only will Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred feature the Paladin class, proving that Blizzard did hear the fans, but another mystery class of unknown origin or power type. In addition, all players will get reshaped progression, with greater customization and new tools for Mastery.

There will be a rework to the Skill Tree, that includes skill variants for every class, a level cap increase, and perhaps most important of all, a Loot Filter will finally be in D4! There will also be some updates to the crafting system, including a fresh take on the Horadric Cube, and set bonuses on equipment.

There will be new endgame content too, where players craft War Plans to create their own endgame progression. You’ll be able to push through a series of your favorite activities, and add modifiers to increase your rewards.

There will also be a new feature called Echoing Hatred, where players fight an unending swarm of demonic hordes. Finally, we can confirm that Fishing will be coming to Diablo 4 as well, if you want something to relax with as you travel through Sanctuary. There’s a lot to be excited about as we get slowly closer to Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s April 28, 2026 release date.
