The unique effect of the Crown of Lucion is the defining feature of the item, allowing it to dish out massive amounts of multiplicative damage, which also stacks up to five times. The only drawback is the increased resource cost for your skills, which can be mitigated using specific gear and legendary aspects. This mechanic requires you to use skills that rapidly spend resources to gain a stacking damage bonus.

To participate in the Infernal Hordes event in Diablo 4, you must acquire an Infernal Compass from the "The Eyes of the Enemy" quest.

With the launch of Diablo 4 Season 8 on May 3, 2025, the Crown of Lucion was marked as Blocklisted, meaning it couldn’t be equipped anymore by any class. This was due to a bug that caused the item to scale infinitely when paired with channeled skills, forcing Blizzard to block the unique help.

This issue was later fixed, and the item only granted the damage bonuses to active player skills. The Crown of Lucion is still used across multiple builds due to its unique effect, making it one of the most versatile ancestral unique items in Diablo 4.
