Leveling up from 1 to 70 in Diablo 3 can feel tedious and sluggish, but in Season 37, you will get multiple ways to significantly speed up your progress. With proper utilization of early gearing tricks, Challenge Rifts, and Kanai’s Cube, you can reach Level 70 in under two hours, while the quickest method can take somewhere around 45 to 50 minutes with an optimized setup.
In this guide, we will break down every efficient way of starting your journey in Diablo 3 Season 37.
Complete Diablo 3 Season 37 leveling guide (1-70)
Every new season of Diablo 3 brings a few months' reset with new mechanics and balances. The first thing you will need to do in Season 37 is create a new Seasonal Hero (or rebirth an older character).
Only one of your characters can receive the Seasonal Journey rewards, so make sure you are using a seasonal character before opening Challenge Rift caches. These caches are a big part of your seasonal progression in Diablo 3.
1) Finishing up Challenge Rifts
Challenge Rifts give you a fixed build type, which is either unbalanced or will have weird skill combinations. So, once you have created or rebirthed your character in Season 37, you will need to complete the weekly Challenge Rifts as early as possible.
Finishing the Challenge Rifts rewards you with caches with valuables like:
- 475x Blood Shards
- 35x Death’s Breaths
- 5.1 million Gold
- 128x Veiled Crystals
- 354x Arcane Dust
- 364x Reusable Parts
- 15x Bounty materials (from each act)
These caches are potent enough to greatly boost your early game progression. Use the cache rewards to max out your Blacksmith and Mystic levels. Doing so will give you early access to high-tier crafting options.
2) Stealing weapons from followers

One of the best early power spikes can be gained by stealing weapons from your followers, as they always come with higher-stat weapons.
Here's a list of which follower gives weapons to which class:
- Templars: Crusaders, Barbarians, Monks
- Scoundrel: Demon Hunters
- Enchantress: Witch Doctors, Necromancers, Wizards

3) Early vendor gear and jewelry
Once you have made it to Level 6, vendors with the "Fence" title will start selling jewelry to you. Aim for Rings with a flat damage increase, as these can give you an immediate DPS boost.
Repeat the same thing with Amulets once you reach Level 10. Also, keep replacing your equipped gear with better ones as you level up to avoid having any weak gear slots.
4) Kanai’s Cube

In Act III, go to the Ruins of Sescheron and acquire Kanai’s Cube. It's located on the far side of the Elder Sanctum.
If you manage to get the cube at Level 1, you can immediately start using gambled or crafted Legendary items in it. Make sure to get some decent items from the vendors, as there are a ton of mobs inside the sanctum.
Getting an early Legendary using Kanai’s Cube can drastically increase the game’s momentum for you. All you need to do is craft a Rare Level 70 item at the Blacksmith and use Kanai’s Cube to upgrade it to Legendary. Once you have the latter, you can extract its Legendary power. While this is viable for every class in Diablo 3, only a handful of them have a smaller Legendary loot pool, meaning it's almost a guaranteed drop.
For example:
Necromancers:
- Use: Crafted two-handed Rare scythe
- Get: Bloodtide Blade, Reilena's Shadowhook, Maltorius' Petrified Spike, or Nayr's Black Death.
Demon Hunter:
- Use: Crafted Level 70 Rare dagger

5) Use the Blood Shards from Challenge Rift caches

To do this, you will need to go to Kadala in Diablo 3. While not all items on the list below can be acquired at Level 1, they can be gradually included in your build.
Necromancers:
- Grasps of Essence
- Razeth's Volition
- Reilena's Shadowhook
- Circle of Nailuj's Evol

Best methods of leveling in Diablo 3 Season 37
Solo-only methods

1) Massacre bonus
The Massacre bonus was heavily revamped into a powerful multiplicative XP bonus in Patch 2.4.1. The bonus begins at 15 kills and caps at 500, and grants you a massive 4.5x XP multiplier. It doesn't work in Rift dungeons, so you will need to farm in crowd-packed zones outside Rifts. The best zones with mobs:
- Temple of the Firstborn
- Halls of Agony 3
- Fields of Misery
- Cathedral levels
- Eternal Woods
Taking advantage of the Massacre bonus gets easier if you are running a class and build with high DoT and AoE buffs. This is the fastest way to level up solo in Diablo 3, and it takes around 1 hr 30 minutes to 1 hr 50 minutes to reach Level 70.
Group-only methods
1) Cursed Chests
The best seasonal leveling approach for group players would be to search the game’s events for Cursed Chests. This method involves taking on several waves of enemies in hopes of receiving Cursed Chests. Builds like Blood Wave Necromancer and Corpse Explosion Necromancer fit perfectly in these events.
Cursed Chest events can be found in:
- Cursed Cellar (Act I Old Ruins)
- Cursed Court (Act I Cathedral L2)
- Cursed Bellows (Act I Halls of Agony L3)
- Cursed Pit and Cursed Spire (Act II Archives of Zoltun Kulle)
- Cursed Moors (Act II Shrouded Moors)
- Cursed Temple (Act II Temple of the Firstborn)
- Cursed Garrison (Act III The Battlefields)
- Cursed Bailey (Act III Ruins of Sescheron)
- Cursed Peat (Act IV Paths of the Drowned)
This is the fastest way to level up to Level 70, taking somewhere around 45 to 50 minutes.
Other ways of leveling up in Diablo 3
If you are looking to utilize Diablo 3’s enemy AI and trap mechanics, there is a fun way to use the game against itself. Enter the Halls of Agony I, and run straight past the enemy mobs till the end of the map. This area is filled with falling blade traps, and all you need to do is kite the mobs into it, instantly killing them.
This process is highly time-efficient and can take you up to Level 70 in under an hour. That said, it is also a sloppy process and can easily kill you if you are not careful while kiting enemies.
Running Rift dungeons is the most straightforward way of progressing to Level 70 in Diablo 3. Rifts give you more rewards, like Legendary drops, Blood Shards, and bonus XP, at the end of each run. However, since Rift mechanics are RNG-based, you might get stuck with an unbalanced Rift. Taking part in low-difficulty Rifts is recommended for smoother progression.
