The Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Side Mission is a fun little challenge you can undertake to test your combat prowess and mating calls simultaneously. While not the most glorious of tasks, the XP earned will help you reach the max level faster. If nothing else, you'll have fun helping Mort with his Thresher problem.

That being said, here's how to start Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Side Mission, the steps needed to complete it, and the challenge you can expect to face along the way.

Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Step-By-Step Walkthrough

Here's a broad idea of how the Breeding Daisies quest goes:

Save Mort and talk to him to get the quest
Collect three Thresher Eggs
Turn in Eggs and kill some Manglers to collect meat
Subdue Daisy
Attempt to perform mating call (thrice)

How to start the Breeding Daisies quest in Borderlands 4: Save Mort from the Threshers

To get the Breeding Daises quest, you need to venture towards the west of The Howl in Fadefields. Particularly, you're looking for a rock with a man cowering on the top, close to the Gushing Torrent area.

The first thing you need to do is rescue Mort, who is stranded on a rock being circled by a few Threshers.
He will stand up once all the Threshers are slain, and you can finally start the quest.
The Breeding Daisies quest sets up a quest chain, which next unlocks the Side Mission called Whack-A-Thresher.

Reach the Thresher nest and collect eggs

Once you accept the Side Mission, you will have to travel to the designated area marked on the map. Once you approach the cave entrance at the given destination, the objective will update. You will then have to enter this cave and collect three Thresher eggs by defeating three Badass Threshers.

After you enter the cave, venture further in till you face a quest circle, where a bunch of Threshers will start spawning. Usually, you'll need to kill a few regular Threshers to trigger the Badass Thresher spawn.
The three Badass Threshers will tend to spawn with different Elemental Affinities, and in three different spots across the cave.
There's a natural balcony at the innermost section of the cave overlooking the map boundary to the west, but you can't jump off from here, and there's nothing on the other side.

From this area, there's a scaffolding you can glide off to get back to the entrance. This spot will have a Red Chest. However, before you glide off, look towards the right to find a crevice with a Survivalist Cache inside it. This rewards you 15 SDU tokens, so make sure to grab it before you get out.

Return to Mort and hand over eggs

Once you've got the eggs, return to Mort and hand them over. He will then give you a brand new set of objectives to complete.

Collect Mangler Meat and return to the farm

You'll next be tasked with killing some Manglers in the Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Side Mission. This should be easy enough for you to do, irrespective of your Vault Hunter's Class. Once you have three Mangler Meat, return to Mort, and he'll give you more tasks to complete.

Once you return with the Mangler Meat, you'll need to place it in a feeder. Daisy the newly hatched pet Thresher grows up in a jiffy after eating it, and next, you'll need to discipline it by shooting it till it's 1 HP. Don't worry about accidentally killing it, as it will automatically stop receiving damage after sufficient punishment.

Perform a thresher mating call and kill Wildhorns

Next, you are tasked with finding an "adequately virile mate" for Daisy. You'll have to interact with the megaphone on the left side of the farm to perform a Thresher mating call. Sadly, it will backfire, and you will now have to fight Wildhorns instead, due to not getting the pitch quite right.

Since the mating call failed the first time around, you'll have to do it again, but mean it this time. Sadly, despite your best efforts, you will fail once more and attract Kratches, which you must now exterminate in the Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Side Mission.

In this segment, you might need to move to a quest circle further to the southwest. If the quest does not update, you have not killed all the Kractch in the area, so look around to find a remaining one that may not be aggroed.

Perform a mating call that unleashes your inner thresher, subdue it, and set the mood

Head to the megaphone one last time, attempt a final mating call (which works), and prepare for a battle with Ivan the Thresher. Once defeated, Daisy will reappear, get cozy with him, and all that's left to do is help them set the mood. Interact with the jukebox in front of the Hut, and the Breeding Daisies Side Mission will be complete.

Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies quest rewards

For clearing the Breeding Daisies quest in Borderlands 4, you get the following:

XP, Cash, Eridium
Blue or Purple-rarity Shotgun
"It's Threshy" Vault Hunter head (account-wide unlock for all characters)

After this quest, you can immediately move a bit towards the south to talk to Mort again and start another quick side-mission called Whack-a-Thresher.
