Best vendor upgrade to get for loot in Destiny 2: Renegades

After completing the campaign of Destiny 2: Renegades, you’ll gain access to the new seasonal activities. These include Bounty Hunts, Sabotage, Smuggle, and the new PvP activity called Invasion. As a Renegade, you’ll be helping out the Syndicates and be rewarded with loot in exchange. However, there’s an upgrade that you can get for even better loot.

If you have no clue about the thing, it’s the Renegades Gear Tier vendor upgrade, which will make farming powerful loot much easier across all Destiny 2: Renegades activities. This guide will show you where and how you can get the upgrade.

How to get the Gear Tier vendor upgrade in Destiny 2: Renegades?

Purchasing the Gear Tier upgrade will permanently increase the Tier of all Gear dropped from all Renegades activities. Meaning, instead of T4, you’ll get a T5 item from rewards chests, which will make farming the best stat rolls much easier.

The upgrade is available at Spider in the Tharsis Outpost. However, to acquire that, you need to meet the following requirements:

Complete the Campaign: The first requirement is to complete the Destiny 2: Renegades campaign. Without it, you cannot progress to the next requirement.
Complete ‘Fellow Friend’ triumph: Fellow Friend is basically the only requirement you need to complete to get the Gear Tier vendor upgrade. However, it requires you to max out any Syndicate rank, which is something only available after the campaign.

How to max out Syndicate rank in Destiny 2: Renegades?

As mentioned, Spider won’t give you the upgrade unless you max out a Syndicate rank. There are three to choose from: The Pikers, Totality Division, and Tharsis Reformation. To align yourself with the one, interact with the banner in their respective area.

After doing so, you’ll gain access to various contracts that grant Syndicate Reputation on completion. Additionally, the activities will also grant Dark Matter Ingot, which you can exchange for rewards and additional reputation. We recommend doing the ‘Priority Contract’ to earn double progress and not switching your pledge.
