The next major update for Path of Exile 2, The Last of the Druids, is just a few days away. And with a new update, we are getting various Skills, Ascendancies, and gameplay options. During the recent live stream for the upcoming League, Grinding Gear Games showcased some interesting crafting and gameplay options that we believe will open up new build techs that weren’t possible before.
We can’t say which build tech will be the meta or the most effective until the update is out. However, it’s possible to combine multiple of them and make your own unique gameplay style. This article will explore five new build-crafting options that will open in patch 0.4 for Path of Exile 2.
Path of Exile 2 League 0.4 is opening many more build options
1) Shapeshift hybrid builds

The Primal Talisman, coming in Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4, allows everyone to transform into various forms. Each one has different benefits and can help elevate different gameplay styles. For example, Ranger and Huntress, who regularly use mark abilities, will benefit from the Werewolf’s Pounce skill.
At the same time, those who like to play around Charges will benefit from the Wyvern form. Shapeshifting is also helpful to add more effects to your Skills, like the Bear Slams, which can empower existing slams to repeat or activate the fissure skills.
There are also unique Talismans that will change transformation into something different and grant special skills that aren't available anywhere else.
2) Vaal-born unique items

Modifying unique items is usually not possible, but in Path of Exile 2 patch 0.4, the Temple of Atrizi will allow you to change one or two of the existing mods and embed them with another. Note that you can only modify Vaal-based uniques, like Constricting Command or Atziri's Acuity.
Even a single modifier can make a lot of difference when it comes to unique items, and you can get some powerful combos. However, as with any other crafting method, there’s also a risk of making the item useless or gaining no benefit from the new modifier.
3) Oracle’s Unseen Path

One of the most interesting things about the Druid’s Oracle Ascendancy in Path of Exile 2 is the Unseen Path Notable. It grants him over 130 new passive nodes with unique effects. Unlike the Talisman, these passives are unique to the character class.
While we don’t know the full extent, as GGG is changing the entire passive tree, they did showcase a few interesting ones. For example, one of the Notables was Corruption Endures, which grants Oracle a chance to survive a fatal blow. It will leave you at 1 HP, but it’s enough to spam your Life Flask to get back to full health.
Another one showcased was Self-Sacrificing, which lowers the Spirit Reservation Efficiency for all Skills by 20% but increases the Reservation Efficiency for minion Skills by 40%. While we don’t know what all of these nodes will be, they will certainly grant a lot more flexibility in the gameplay.
4) Pathfinder’s Path Seeker

Similar to the Oracle, the Pathfinder is also getting a lot of freedom when it comes to build crafting. Although there are no restrictions on build-crafting, it will be a lot easier for her due to the new Path Seeker multi-choice Ascendancy passive.
It allows her to start allocating passives from the Witch or the Warrior starting nodes. For instance, if you want to pick up Keystones like Mind Over Matter from or want to go full melee as a Ranger, it’ll be a lot easier to do so in the upcoming Path of Exile 2 update.
Another Ascendancy passive that will make her even stronger is the Traveller's Wisdom, which requires you to have Path Seeker, but grants additional options to all of the attribute nodes on the passive tree. You’ll be able to either increase Damage, Global Defences, or Cost Efficiency by 5% alongside STR, INT, and DEX.
5) Artificial Limbs

Alongside double corruption, the Temple of Atziri brings another crafting method. However, this one’s not on your gear, but instead applies to the character. During a run, you may encounter Surgeon’s Ward, which allows you to replace limbs with prosthetics that add various effects.
On the live stream, GGG only showcased additional Stun Threshold and Curse Magnitude, but there’s a good chance that upgrading the room tier will provide even more options. The prosthetics aren’t permanent and will go away upon death, but this gives you an option to try something different.
