According to the latest Fortnite Chapter 7 leaks, Epic Games is working on a brand new mode codenamed "Quints". The information was brought to light by veteran leaker/data-miner @HYPEX on the social media platform X. The individual in question has been around since the start, and information shared by him is highly reliable.

Based on what was shared, "Quints" will be a team-based mode created for Zero Build and regular Battle Royale. This will not be related to the main modes, but will likely share similar elements. That said, here is more on the topic at hand.

Note: The information contained herein is based on leaks and should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is subject to change at Epic Games' discretion.

Fortnite Chapter 7 leaks hint at upcoming 5-player Squad mode

Based on the Fortnite Chapter 7 leaks, "Quints" will be a 5-player Squad's squad-based mode. This means that each team will consist of five players. We don't know the total number of players, but it could be either 60 or up to 100 based on the total player count in other core modes. This would imply that there could be a total of 20 teams on the map at any given point in time.

In terms of combat, this will change the dynamics in a huge way. Having five players per team will allow for numerous strategies and playstyles. Each player could have a designated role, allowing them to specialize in certain ways; for example, one player could serve as the team medic. Carrying mostly healing items to keep the squad alive and kicking. Others can focus on combat.

When taking into account that this mode will feature "Build" and "No Build", there's a lot that can happen. This is without even knowing the loot pool that can be expected. However, one thing is for certain, which is that third-party encounters will be very challenging for the attacker and defender.

That being said, in most matches, they will eventually evolve into a "king of the hill" situation in the end-game, wherein one team will try to defend their location in the safe zone, while others try to oust them. Once more, depending on the loot that will be in play, things will be very interesting to say the least.

We can expect more information about this mode during the v39.10 update, which will be released on December 11, 2025. Best-case scenario, it may just launch later this week once downtime ends, as it's related to Winterfest 2025.
