The MVP of any sport, including WWE, is someone who a team could not afford to be without. In pro wrestling, however, it's a bit more subjective due to the pre-determined nature and storytelling apparatus, as certain performers get more spotlight.
However, they may not be as important as other stars who help out up and down the card. Some would argue that John Cena and Cody Rhodes fall into the MVP category, but being an MVP and heavy spotlight are two different things.
Cena's achievements felt more like checking off a box than anything else. Winning a 17th title but dropping it to someone like LA Knight or Sami Zayn would have been massive for those performers. Rhodes is the company's top star.
All of his feuds feel the same. A potential MVP should be in a variety of angles against different opponents. He or she should also help elevate other stars. The next four WWE stars can stake a claim to being the MVP of 2025.
10 Shocking Injuries That Destroyed WWE Stars - Watch Here!
#4. Tiffany Stratton was elevated in 2025
Tiffany Stratton reigned over SmackDown for much of 2025. She cashed in Money in the Bank in January and held the WWE Women's title until Saturday Night's Main Event in early November.
While she mainly battled Nia Jax, Stratton defeated Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 41. She put Stephanie Vaquer over at Crown Jewel and also sold Jade Cargill as a dominant force as a heel.
Rhodes and Cena were champions while Stratton held things down in the women's division, but she was active all year until recently. Getting a signature win over Charlotte Flair gave her credibility.
#3. Dominik Mysterio is one of WWE's most-hated heels
While he traded the Intercontinental title with John Cena, Dominik Mysterio has the fans invested every time he steps out from behind the curtain.
Despite always winning through nefarious means, he puts forth great efforts against every opponent.
His ongoing arrogance led to issues with Finn Balor and every rival, including Penta and AJ Styles. Dominik's character work got even better in 2025, further raising fans' hatred of the younger Mysterio.
Dirty Dom had to briefly adjust due to Liv Morgan's injury, but was able to pivot easily with the addition of Roxanne Perez. Adaptability and his entertaining character are hard to replicate.
#2. Becky Lynch's versatility is highly valuable
The Man returned at WrestleMania 41 to win the WWE Women's Tag Team titles with Lyra Valkyria. The partnership was short-lived as Lynch turned on Valkyria on the ensuing RAW.
The two Irishwomen embarked on a fantastic feud that helped elevate The Valkyrie as one of the foundational members of the future. Her matches against Lynch and Bayley were classics.
Getting fans behind someone who may not be the best on the mic is hard to do, and Lynch's rivalry with Valkyria helped elevate the former NXT Women's Champion.
Factor in her character work, feud with AJ Lee, and putting Maxxine Dupri over, and Lynch has done some great work this year.
#1. 2025 wouldn't have been the same without Seth Rollins
While John Cena winning a 17th Championship was arguably the biggest moment of the year, Seth Rollins was involved in three of the most pivotal moments for WWE in 2025.
His first offering was orchestrating Paul Heyman turning on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41. The second was winning Money in the Bank and his "injury" ruse leading to a cash-in at SummerSlam.
The third pivotal moment occurred when Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turned on Rollins after he brought them under his wing. The Visionary adapts to any situation and has played multiple characters throughout his WWE career.
It's that ability to morph between hero and villain, and maniacal heel and valiant babyface, that puts Rollins atop the MVP conversation.
