Superstars come and go from WWE all the time. Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and CM Punk all left WWE but eventually returned after varying periods away from the promotion.
AJ Lee came back into the fold this fall after over a decade away. Time can heal some wounds, as evidenced by both Punk and Lee's re-emergence in the Stanford-based company.
When it comes to other personalities, they either say or do too many controversial or foolish things that would prevent their returns. Triple H will likely never welcome back the next four controversial stars to WWE.

#4. Ryback crossed paths with John Cena and CM Punk
Ryback broke out from the Nexus to become one of the more popular stars of the previous decade. He was pushed as a juggernaut like Goldberg, picking up quick victories each week.
His "Feed Me More" catch phrase was popular with fans, but his push into the main event was short-lived.
Ryback had a featured match with John Cena and Punk at Survivor Series in 2012. It was at that event where the Shield famously debuted to help The Best in the World retain.
He left in 2016 and hasn't had the kindest words for Punk, Triple H, and others. Due to his feelings towards many of those in charge, he'll never return.
#3. The Velveteen Dream had success in NXT
Patrick Clark Jr., aka the Velveteen Dream, was a home-grown star who competed on the same season of Tough Enough as Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. He was eliminated much sooner from the competition, but had a good career in NXT.
The flamboyant star won the North American title and had feuds with Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and other top stars of that generation.
His downfall came when allegations of issues with minors came to light, leading to his release. That type of behavior is unacceptable at every level, so he should never be welcomed back into any promotion.
#2. Matt Riddle wrestles on the independent scene
Matt Riddle was one of the more popular WWE stars after his stint in NXT. He had a comedic partnership with Randy Orton that led to tag team gold. Despite the in-ring talent, Riddle was let go for a few reasons.
The former UFC star had no problem speaking his mind even when former co-workers weren't the topic. He also failed a drug test that led to his release.
While he's been out of WWE, he's still taken shots at many current stars, including CM Punk and others. Riddle may still have some friends in the company, but his statements would lead Triple H to stay away.
#1. Alberto Del Rio was a WWE main-eventer last decade
Unlike the other stars on this list, Alberto Del Rio won a major title while with WWE. He also won a Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank. His personal life came into focus as he had toxic relationships, including one with former star Paige.
Alleged domestic issues in 2020 also didn't help his potential return, nor did bashing Triple H. Thoughts of a possible return popped back up as Del Rio was recently the AAA Mega Champion until he dropped it to El Hijo Del Vikingo.
That swap was made after WWE purchased AAA. If he was going to come back or even if Triple H was willing to give him another shot, he would have kept the title.
