Why CM Punk Should Retain His Title Against Bron Breakker

CM Punk is all set to face The Vision’s Bron Breakker on the first WWE Raw of 2026 on January 5. Breakker has had great momentum going into his title shot, with impressive promos on Raw and pinning Punk at WarGames. Many expect Breakker to win and help set the future of Raw; however, below are the reasons why Punk needs to retain the championship going into 2026.

#1. Impact on other members of The Vision

The Vision currently consists of two other superstars, Logan Paul and Bronson Reed. Following Seth Rollins’ exit from the group, there isn’t a clearly defined hierarchy or leadership within The Vision. If Bron Breakker wins the championship, it could lead to internal problems within the group, which may not be ideal right now given the group’s current positioning on the card.

This kind of tension should be saved for later, perhaps around mid-year, when the members are more established as a unit. Sowing the seeds of jealousy and a potential disbandment could happen earlier than expected if Bron wins the championship now, which might not be the best move. #3. Bron Breakker winning the Elimination Chamber to challenge and dethrone CM Punk at WrestleMania makes more sense

Imagine a monster like Bron Breakker decimating five other superstars inside the Elimination Chamber and then challenging CM Punk for the title at WrestleMania. This would further establish Breakker as a credible threat while showcasing the raw power WWE has wanted to highlight since his debut on Monday Night Raw.

It also gives CM Punk the spotlight of a one-on-one WrestleMania main event, something that has been notably missing from his résumé.
