Matrick Mondre Belton is a professional wrestler from the United States who performs in WWE’s NXT brand under the name Trick Williams. Williams won his first title, the NXT North American Championship, on September 30, 2023, by beating "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy. After a heated rivalry with his former tag team partner Carmelo Hayes, Williams challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship at NXT Spring Breakin' 2024. This victory marked the beginning of the "Whoop That" Era, signifying Williams' ascent to the top of NXT.

After being attacked by former AEW superstar Ethan Page, Trick Williams made his first title defense against him. At NXT Battleground 2024, Williams defeated Page, marking his first successful defense. At NXT Heatwave 2024, he lost his NXT Championship in a fatal four-way match against Je'Von Evans, Ethan Page, and Shawn Spears.

Trick Williams was born on May 26, 1994 in Columbia, South Carolina, United States. He enrolled as a fresher at Hampton University in 2013. He moved to the University of South Carolina in 2014 and graduated from there. Apart from this, information regarding his early education, including his primary and secondary schooling, have not been publicly disclosed.

Trick Williams' Football Career

Trick Williams joined the Hampton Pirates football team after enrolling as a student in Hampton University in 2013. However, he transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks, where he debuted in 2014. He attended University of Southern California as a walk-on, but he participated in every game that year, starting five and catching 11 passes for 121 yards.

At Tennessee, he set a career-high by catching two passes for 34 yards, including one for 18 yards. During a start versus Spurrier's former school, Florida, he had two passes for 33 yards, including a career-long 25-yard reception. Additionally, he was recognized as the offence's best walk-on during the 2015 spring game.

In 2016, he left the South Carolina Gamecocks to seek new opportunities but was not selected in the 2017 draft. Following that, he dedicated his time to mentoring and working as a student-teacher intern at Airport High School in West Columbia, South Carolina. In 2018, he played in the Spring League and got a chance to try out at the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp.

After five years of playing football, Trick Williams made a big career change by signing a developmental contract with WWE in February 2021. He started training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. He initially debuted on the NXT brand, teaming up with Carmelo Hayes. However, he soon ventured into solo competition and achieved significant success by capturing the WWE NXT North American Championship and the WWE NXT Championship, having held each of these prestigious titles once.

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing around 240 pounds, Williams is a versatile performer who can pull off impressive wrestling moves like the Trick Shot (Running Pump Knee), Trick Kick (Spinning Big Boot), Slam Dunk (Corkscrew Neckbreaker), and Whoop That Trick (Forearm Smash).
