John Cena will retire from WWE tonight at Saturday Night's Main Event, and his legacy will finally come to a close. Leading up to his final match and throughout his retirement tour, WWE has claimed that John Cena is the Greatest of All Time. This is an arguable statement. While Cena could well be one of the greatest of all time, there is no doubt in anyone's mind that he definitely isn't the greatest. There have been so many wrestlers better than Cena when it comes to overall in-ring ability, even though he was someone who excelled on the mic. It seems that once again, this is a case of WWE rewriting their own history, since there have been numerous times where he definitely wasn't seen as the best. There was once a time that fans claimed Cena only had five moves, before the whole WWE Universe united when they pushed for him to have the title taken from him back in 2006. There are many greater than John Cena in WWE historyThe honest truth of the situation is that the greatest of all time will always be different based on who you ask. It is a matter of opinion, but there are stars with the calibre of Rey Mysterio, Shawn Michaels, and even Triple H who would have much more of a claim to the moniker. While this year has been about Cena and WWE has clearly put all of their attention into promoting this match, it's interesting to note that the man they have claimed is now "The GOAT" for the past eight months isn't headlining the Hall of Fame class following his retirement. Instead, that accolade will fall to Stephanie McMahon, who has already been announced for the class of 2026 almost a year in advance.
