Recently, Saudi Arabia's Chairman of the General Entertainment Body, Turki Al-Sheikh, stated that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia. Later, PWInsider reported that Al-Sheikh's comments were true and the company would soon make the historic announcement of the event taking place outside the United States.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR), even though WWE wanted to host WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia in 2028, Turki Al-Sheikh has called for the event to be pushed forward by one year, as 2027 will mark the 300th anniversary of the foundation of the first Saudi State. The authorities reportedly want several marquee matches, involving legends, to take place on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Moreover, the insider stated that nothing is set to be off-limits, as several veterans could come out of retirement for a one-off match.

WWE legends have previously stepped out of retirement for a match in Saudi Arabia

WWE entered a deal with Saudi Arabia in 2018 to produce and host events in the country for a 10-year period. Since then, several superstars from the past have been used as an attraction by the company for its premium live events in the Middle East. Names like Goldberg, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and more have competed in front of Saudi fans.

In 2018, Shawn Michaels stepped out of retirement for the first time in eight years to compete at WWE Crown Jewel. However, The Heartbreak Kid wasn't the only one to do so, as Kane, who had shifted his focus toward a career in politics by that time, also returned to the squared circle, teaming up with The Undertaker to take on D-Generation X.

Michaels has yet to return to in-ring competition following that disastrous outing, while Kane has had only one appearance inside the squared circle since then. It'll be interesting to see if industry veterans decide to step out of retirement for one last match at WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia.
