There was a huge botched angle at WWE Survivor Series. The spot was spoiled by accident. Dominik Mysterio's botch angle at WWE Survivor Series was spoiled Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the issues surrounding the star and what had happened at the event. He said that it was believable at first because of the way Mysterio fell, but then WWE spoiled the fact that it was a work and not a real injury because of what happened after. He said that the camera being on them after Mysterio had fallen immediately gave away the fact that he was not injured. He explained the WWE rule that the camera would not be on the star if he was really injured. They would have taken it away right away, at least until they were sure he was not seriously hurt. He went on to reveal that they did the Penta spot, where the star had been injured earlier this week after a similar move. He did praise the spot, saying the way that Cena had dropped the star made it look like the botch of all botches. “I was not sold when they kept the camera on him. When they kept the camera on him, it was like wait a minute. I know WWE, when a guy is really hurt in there and it’s an accident, they take the camera off him right away. So, but I thought it was brilliant. Basically, they did the Penta spot. Everyone saw that spot, or most of the fans did that just watched RAW anyway. And in their minds it’s like, "Oh my God, Penta legitimately got hurt. Let’s copy that spot, and Dominik sold that really great. And the way Cena dropped him. It looked like a botch. Botch of all botches. And if that was really what was planned, that was actually tremendous.”Dominik Mysterio went on to win the bout and is the Intercontinental Champion once again.
