UPDATE: Top star ruled out as Mystery Attacker ahead of WWE SmackDown - REPORTS

One of the biggest mysteries in WWE today is the identity of the masked man who helped Team Vision beat Team Punk at Survivor Series: WarGames. The latest reports suggest that one of the rumored names under the hood and mask has already been ruled out as the mystery attacker.

Bryan Alvarez initially reported earlier this week on Wrestling Observer Live that Montez Ford was the man behind the mask on WWE RAW. The mysterious star attacked Rey Mysterio and LA Knight, helping The Vision once again to gain the advantage.

Austin Theory was the rumored individual under the mask at Survivor Series, while Ford was the one who donned it last Monday. However, Alvarez went back on his original report and gave a new update on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live.

"I can tell you right now, I don’t know who the mystery man was on Monday, but I was told specifically it was not Montez Ford," Alvarez said. [H/T WrestleTalk]

Austin Theory was previously linked to The Vision before Survivor Series, but plans were obviously changed. As for Montez Ford, WWE fans have been clamoring for him to be given a chance as a singles star.

Former WWE writer doesn't like the masked man storyline

Vince Russo is one of the biggest critics of WWE's product, though he always tries to point out what he likes and what he doesn't. One of the things he doesn't like at the moment is the masked man storyline, making his point on X, formerly known as Twitter.
