The mystery man storyline in WWE has everyone guessing in the dark. A wild theory involving Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose) has been making the rounds on the internet.

The black-hooded figure first appeared at Survivor Series: WarGames, costing CM Punk the match against The Vision. The man in disguise would then show up on the December 8 edition of RAW, taking out Rey Mysterio and LA Knight.

Speculation is rife about the identity of the masked man, and Triple H continues to keep it a secret.

A Facebook handle by the name of "King of Wrestling" shared a photoshopped image of The Shield and claimed that Dean Ambrose came back as a mystery man to reunite The Shield.

Who is the mystery man in WWE?

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE is using two different people to play the role of the mystery man.

“In an effort to throw fans off, it appears at least two different people have been under the mystery man mask."

Austin Theory's name has since been brought up, but the man who appeared on Monday Night RAW this past week wasn't him.

Rumor has it that Montez Ford was hiding behind the mask, but people within the company have ruled him out of the equation. Ricky Saints, who recently turned heel, is among the top suspects.

Dave Meltzer noted that the masked assailant could turn out to be Chris Jericho if WWE drags the storyline until January 2026. Of course, Y2J would have to leave AEW at the end of this year for that to happen.

Whether or not he will be unveiled as the mastermind behind all this remains to be seen, but the masked man is in cahoots with The Vision.

Is it all part of Paul Heyman's plan? If yes, CM Punk's days as the World Heavyweight Champion could be numbered.

The Best in the World is scheduled to defend his title against Bron Breakker on the January 5 edition of RAW on Netflix's anniversary show.
