The Megastar has had his fair share of ups and downs in 2025. He was embroiled in a months-long feud with The Vision over the summer.

But the creative pulled him from the Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series and put him in the Last Time is Now Tournament instead.

The WWE Universe was rallying behind him in his quest to face John Cena in his final match.

But his dreams went up in flames after he lost to Gunther in the finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament on SmackDown last week.

During the go-home episode of RAW before Saturday Night's Main Event XLII, Knight resumed his rivalry with The Vision, coming to the aid of Rey Mysterio.

Later in the show, he came up short against Logan Paul after the mystery man stomped his head on the announce table.

The Vision laid waste to him in the post-match and took things too far, so LA Knight ended up leaving the building in an ambulance. Fans have since been wondering whether the 43-year-old beloved has left WWE or if he was just being written off.

According to Fightful Select, LA Knight is not leaving the Stamford-based promotion anytime soon, as he still has years left on his deal.

Several people within the company were said to be "confused" with the outrage over the situation, and clarified that the beatdown story will be revisited at some point.

There's also no such heat on The Megastar, with one source noting that he wouldn't have defeated Jey Uso if that was the case.

BodySlam recently reported that LA Knight is being positioned as a top babyface heading into 2026 and that the creative is paying close attention to the reactions he's been getting lately.

WWE and ECW legend unhappy with LA Knight's booking

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray took issue with LA Knight tapping out to Gunther last Friday.

He said WWE could have protected The Megastar in his loss by making him pass out.

"Maybe we should protect LA Knight in the finish, which they did not. I was very torn by the actual finish. LA Knight tapped out. Now, here’s why I was p*****. You could have pinned him, but you didn’t do that. Or you could have had him pass out to the move."

With the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia fast approaching, it will be interesting to see if Knight returns in time for the biggest event of the year.
