Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated premium live events on the WWE calendar. The 2026 edition of the PLE is scheduled to take place on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will mark the first instance of the Stamford-based wrestling promotion's "Big Four" events moving outside of North America.In the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the 2026 Royal Rumble will also feature only four matches, the same as the last two years. He added that the global juggernaut has yet to finalize the two championship bouts other than the Rumble matches scheduled for the show. It is surprising because the company usually has the major premium live events all planned out several months in advance."The current plan for Royal Rumble is a four-match show with two title matches and the two Rumble matches," Meltzer reported. "The two [title] matches are not finalized even though it’s just under two months away." If that is the case, The Vision member is likely to lose his upcoming World Heavyweight Championship clash against CM Punk on the January 5 edition of Monday Night RAW.Former WWE star predicts a massive Royal Rumble returnWrestling legend Chris Jericho's contract with AEW is set to expire by the end of the year. There has been a lot of speculation about the 55-year-old going back to World Wrestling Entertainment after he becomes a free agent.Speaking on a recent video on his YouTube channel, former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree predicted that Y2J will show up at Royal Rumble. He added that it would be a great spot for Jericho's return."I think we’re gonna see him debut, Rumble would probably be a great spot for him to come back," Dupree said.Only time will tell when Chris Jericho makes his much-anticipated WWE return after all those years.
