Giulia's WWE Women's United States Championship reign left a sour taste in fans' mouths. Now, a possible reason behind the Triple H-led creative taking the title off her may have been revealed.

During the November 7th edition of SmackDown, Giulia put her WWE Women's United States Championship on the line against Chelsea Green.

The two women had a relatively short match, which saw the Canadian wrestler roll up The Beautiful Madness with her feet on the ropes to pick up a win. The outside distraction from Kiana James and Alba Fyre also affected the outcome.

Regardless, Giulia's fairytale run ended at 133 days, surpassing Chelsea Green's previous reign to become the longest-reigning champion in the title's short history.

The Japanese star made only two successful title defenses, which came against Zelina Vega and Michin. Her lack of TV time and meaningful feuds made her title reign underwhelming, to say the least.

Interestingly, Cory Hays of BodySlam noted that WWE has plans in place for Giulia to move up to the main event scene, which could be why she lost the title last night.

"The plan weeks ago was for her to enter the main event scene. Hoping that’s still the plan and she took the L like that to Chelsea for that reason"

But the fact that she got squashed in under two minutes hampers her chances of making to the top of the mountain.

Chelsea Green's husband reacts to her WWE Women's United States Championship win

Matt Cardona took to his X/Twitter to shower praise on his wife, Chelsea Green.

He gave props to her for never giving up and putting in hard work, which finally paid off.

"When wrestlers ask me for advice, I say don’t quit…that’s it. You might make it if you don’t. You definitely won’t make it if you do. @ImChelseaGreen is proof of that. A career of highs and lows…didn’t complain…did the work…did the extra work…was Alwayz Ready! (she’ll hate that I said the part) I’m very proud of you babe…I love you."

Green now holds both the WWE Women's United States Championship and the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles with Ethan Page, making her a double champion.

With Survivor Series: WarGames right around the corner, it will be interesting to see who will step up to her as her first challenger.
