WWE RAW was the final episode of the red brand before Survivor Series in San Diego. According to a report, the original plan for Penta vs. Solo Sikoa was a bit different.

Penta's first year in the Stamford-based promotion was going well, as the masked star was heavily featured on Monday Night RAW under Triple H's creative regime. However, the 40-year-old RAW star often failed to win the Intercontinental Championship on different instances.

Unfortunately, Penta suffered an injury on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW when he performed a hurricanrana on Solo Sikoa outside the ring and landed on his shoulders. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR), the injury forced the management to cut the match short, as it was originally planned to last for 7-8 more minutes. Moreover, Sikoa was always planned to win the match.

What's next for Penta and Solo Sikoa following WWE RAW?

After failing to win the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, Penta shifted his focus towards 'The Last Time is Now' tournament and defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor to advance in the tournament.

Sadly, the masked wrestler suffered an injury, and Solo Sikoa was granted the win, and he advanced further in the tournament. Elsewhere, Carmelo Hayes gave his best against Gunther on the same episode but failed to defeat The Ring General and was eliminated from the tournament.

As of now, Sikoa is set to face the two-time World Heavyweight Champion in the semi-finals. The tournament will conclude in the coming weeks, and the winner gets the opportunity to become John Cena's last-ever opponent in the Stamford-based promotion. Meanwhile, Penta might go on a hiatus based on the severity of his injury.

In the coming days and weeks, LA Knight will face Sheamus' replacement on Friday Night SmackDown, and Rusev will face Jey Uso. As per previous reports, Gunther might be the one to win the entire tournament and become The Franchise Player's final-ever opponent in the company at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington.
