A 24-time WWE champion has been ruled out as the mysterious masked man helping The Vision. The masked man first made an appearance during the Men's WarGames match at Survivor Series, aiding Bron Breakker to pick up the win for his team by stomping CM Punk.

Fans saw another appearance from the masked man during this week's episode of RAW when he attacked LA Knight and Rey Mysterio during the show to help The Vision.

Since then fans have been speculating as to who is the person behind the mask, with WWE yet to reveal or hint at his identity. Reports have suggested that it could be Austin Theory, but nothing can be said for sure right now.

However, a report in the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) has effectively ruled out one name. According to Dave Meltzer, former WWE Champion Chris Jericho won't be revealed as the mysterious man.

Meltzer noted that while it will generate a huge pop, there is a "zero percent" chance that it will turn out to be Jericho behind the mask. He added, though anything is possible, but right now the plan isn't to have The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla as the man behind these attacks.

Jericho is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), but his current contract is set to expire this month. This has led many to believe that he will be returning to the Stamford-based promotion and might even show up at the Royal Rumble next year.

WWE reportedly using different people under the mask to protect identity

A few days ago, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer noted that WWE might be using different people to portray the masked man. Alvarez mentioned that this could be the company's way to throw off fans and protect the identity of the intended star behind the mask.

A report then emerged that The Street Profits' Montez Ford was the attacker this week on RAW; however, Alvarez reported that he was told specifically that the masked man on Monday was not Ford.

The storyline has built intrigue among the fans, and it remains to be seen when the company decides to reveal the face of the person behind the veil.
