Vince McMahon once went "insane" on a former WWE name for a blunder. The former CEO of the Stamford-based promotion had little patience for mistakes and didn't shy away from giving an earful to the talent whenever he needed to do so.

There have been stories about Vince being in the ears of the commentators during shows and guiding them on what to say and what not to say. Now, former WWE commentator Todd Grisham has recalled an incident where he faced the wrath of his former boss.

During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Grisham was asked about his biggest blunder while working with the sports entertainment giant. He recalled once how WWE magazine transformed from a results-based outlet to more of a Maxim-style lifestyle magazine that allowed fans to connect with the stars more easily. He mentioned a feature about John Morrison, where he had written a poem and chose to mention it on the commentary.

"So they did a whole thing on John Morrison; his finisher was called Starship Pain. So he wrote a poem called Starship Pain. So he’s in the ring, and I go, ‘John Morrison, Starship Pain, he’s a big fan of poetry and wrote a poem about the finisher Starship Pain.’ Vince goes insane in my ear. ‘Did you just say that our number one heel is an effing poet, you stupid F! What the f*ck! Shut up. Just shut up. Don’t say anything else!" he said.

Grisham said Vince asked Jim Ross to call the rest of the match and told him to remain silent. After the match ended, he was allowed to speak.

During the conversation, Todd Grisham also recalled how Vince McMahon berated him backstage once.

It happened after the two met in the gym of the WWE headquarters. He said that Vince greeted him, which made him happy, but he had little idea what was going to happen next.

A few days later, as he was preparing for a backstage interview with Edge and Christian, Vince McMahon yelled at Grisham for not taking the weights off the bar. Vince told him that he did it for him and screamed in his face that he was Grisham's boy.

Grisham said that he was scared at that point and felt like he was "p*ssing" in his pants.
