Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently fired shots at how the company used its major stars like Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and Cody Rhodes. All three superstars will be at Survivor Series.
Lesnar, Cody, and Roman have been the cornerstone of the WWE over the last few years. While Roman Reigns was on top of the mountain for the better part of four years, Cody worked his way to the top. The Beast has also been a major attraction, working high-profile matches with both stars.
This week on The Ariel Helwani Show, the wrestling writer detailed that the WWE creative team had forgotten the basics of storytelling. He pointed out how these blockbuster stars would show up to kick off a show like RAW or SmackDown, do the first segment, and then completely disappear. Russo felt there was nothing hooking the casual fans to watch the show till the end.
"You got your beginning, your middle, and your end, and you thread the story all throughout the show with backstage vignettes. You thread it. You keep the story. Come on, Ariel, how many times, how many times have we seen in the first segment, Brock Lesnar shows up, Roman Reigns shows up, Cody shows up in the first segment, then you don't see him again for the rest of the night. Why? That doesn't make any sense. They're your biggest stars. You need to write the show around them."

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will be at Survivor Series
It will be an all-star Survivor Series this weekend in San Diego. Several major stars from both shows are booked for the event.
The major attraction of the PLE will be the WarGames match featuring the major stars. CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos have formed an alliance to take on Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar.
It will be interesting to see which faction walks out with the win.
