Gunther is quickly gaining a reputation as this generation's legend killer, with his resume in 2025 now including the retirement matches of Goldberg and John Cena. WWE has now seemingly teased The Ring General retiring another legend who plans to call it quits next year. For context, Gunther came out on RAW, and the crowd was understandably furious with him over how he defeated John Cena. For the two-time World Heavyweight Champion, it was like fuel, and he proclaimed proudly that he made John Cena tap out and give up like a "little b***h." He would go backstage, where he would interact with numerous stars, such as Otis, Akira Tozawa, and R-Truth, before Adam Pearce furiously sent him to the exit for disrespecting Cena's legacy. As Gunther made his exit, he found an interesting name sitting on the hood of his car - the 48-year-old Phenomenal AJ Styles. The Ring General walked up to him, and they had a face-off, with Gunther asking Styles, "[Is there] anything you want to tell me?" Styles simply showed his arm to the car, indicating to him that he could leave. But as he started his car, he rolled down the window and called AJ Styles. As he got Styles' attention, the Austrian mocked Cena with the "You can't see me" hand gesture before laughing and driving away. This seemed to tease him as the final opponent of AJ Styles, who confirmed he is retiring next year. It's going to be interesting to see if this is an immediate feud or if WWE plans to hold it down the line. Either way, having AJ Styles on his hit list of legends he has retired would be another massive deal for The Ring General, who has become public enemy #1 in the wrestling world.AJ Styles, for his part, won't go out lying down on his back.
