Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about how the company was testing Chelsea Green. The star is one of the most entertaining characters on SmackDown. Green made history at Saturday Night's Main Event when she became the inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion. WWE's hit show Unreal showcased the backstage chaos before her title win. The episode featured WWE officials telling Green to use the legdrop on her opponent for the pinfall rather than her patented finisher the Unpretti-her. This upset the star, and she questioned the sudden change.During a recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, the wrestling writer pointed out that WWE wanted Green to use a different finisher. Russo explained that no one in WWE had an answer, and they were just trying to see if she would fall in line and agree to their whims. "Here's a perfect example. Chelsea Green. Remember there was that episode, I actually think it was episode three, because I'm a huge fan of Chelsea's. There's that episode where they're putting the belt on Chelsea. Chelsea's been using the same finisher for God knows how many years. All of a sudden, they wanted to use a different finisher. And she's turning to them and asking them why, and nobody's giving her an explanation. Somebody in the business that knows, they're testing Chelsea. They're testing to see if Chelsea is going to go along with everything they say and fall in line, and if Chelsea's going to be a good little student. That's what's going on. So when you really know the business, you can watch this."Chelsea Green is the Women's United States ChampionOver the last few weeks, Chelsea Green has managed to capture two major titles in WWE and AAA. On the November 7 episode of SmackDown, Green defeated Giulia to regain the Women's United States Championship. Green and Ethan Page defeated La Hiedra & Mr. Iguana to win the AAA Mixed tag title on the November 2 episode of AAA Alianzas. At the recent AAA Alianzas show, the duo defeated Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana to retain the AAA World Mixed Tag Team.
