Finn Balor wrestled his first televised match on WWE SmackDown since November 2023 last Friday. In a social media update, the Stamford-based wrestling promotion questioned the RAW star for his actions during the bout.

The Judgment Day member locked horns with fellow RAW star Penta in round one of the Last Time is Now Tournament. The two went back-and-forth in an engaging contest that ended with the luchador using the Mexican Destroyer to secure the win and advance further in the tournament.

Earlier today, WWE posted a clip of Finn Balor trying to mock Penta during the match by doing the latter's signature walk. In the caption, the promotion's official Instagram handle asked the 44-year-old whether it was necessary.

"Was that really necessary, @finnbalor? 👀," read the caption.

Balor's Judgment Day stablemate and fellow countryman, JD McDonagh, also wrestled a match on Friday Night SmackDown. He answered Ilja Dragunov's WWE United States Championship Open Challenge. Although the Irishman put forth a praiseworthy performance, it was not enough to dethrone The Mad Dragon.

Finn Balor hasn't had the best of times in singles competition this year

Finn Balor and his faction, The Judgment Day, have been an integral part of Monday Night RAW for a very long time now. However, the inaugural WWE Universal Champion hasn't had much success lately inside the squared circle when it comes to singles competition.

The Irishman has wrestled eight one-on-one contests in 2025. He emerged victorious in only one of those bouts, losing six, while one ended in a no-contest. He was winless until he defeated Dragon Lee in his seventh singles match this year on the September 1 edition of Monday Night RAW.

WWE has been teasing a potential breakup of The Judgment Day for a while. It will be intriguing to see whether Balor gets booked to win more matches if and when he splits from the faction.
